It was one evening in the middle of the summer of (probably) 2012. Prophet Roelof Meijer had just read the Book of Daniel and was filled with wonder at what God was revealing to him.
Roelof hadn’t been born again for very long at that point. That’s exactly why he was so hungry for God and, above all, so bold in his approach to Him. With the childlike sincerity of a child, he asked God to grant him a dream. And he certainly got one!
That night, Roelof had a dream unlike any he had ever had before. He was standing in a long line of people. It felt like Judgment Day. At the front of the line, people were standing one by one facing a large, terrifying beast. That beast was devouring the people. Behind the beast was a large gate—the gate to Heavenly Paradise. Yet Roelof is not afraid. Because for some reason, he is aware that the beast will not harm him. He knows that the beast has no power whatsoever over any child of God. Thus, every believer can walk freely past the beast and enter Heavenly Paradise.
It might be a strange comparison, but it says enough. If you’re leading 5-0 in soccer and there are only 5 minutes left to play. Then you know for sure that you’re going to win. You haven’t won yet, but it can’t go wrong anymore. That’s how it felt at that moment. Even though there was still a little time left, victory was certain. Roelof was absolutely certain that he would walk freely through the gate. Hallelujah!
